Addiction Treatment Programs for Sunrise, FL Residents

Every person’s recovery needs are different, and the appropriate level of treatment can change as progress is made. First Step Behavioral Health provides a continuum of care near Sunrise that allows clients to move through different levels of addiction treatment based on their clinical needs, stability, and recovery goals.

Medically Supervised Detox

For many people, safely withdrawing from drugs or alcohol is the beginning of the treatment process. Our medically supervised detox program provides professional care and monitoring to help clients manage withdrawal symptoms as safely and comfortably as possible.

Clients withdrawing from alcohol, opioids, benzodiazepines, and other substances receive 24/7 support from trained professionals. In addition to managing withdrawal, detox helps prepare individuals to transition into the next appropriate stage of addiction treatment.

Residential Addiction Treatment

Our residential inpatient program near Sunrise gives clients the opportunity to step away from everyday triggers and focus on recovery in a structured treatment environment. Clients live at our residential facility while participating in an individualized schedule of clinical services and recovery-focused activities.

The structure of inpatient treatment provides consistent support, accountability, and access to care while clients begin addressing substance use patterns and developing healthier ways of managing challenges.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Our partial hospitalization program (PHP) provides a highly structured level of care without requiring the same residential setting as inpatient treatment. Clients participate in intensive daytime programming that can include individual and group therapy, behavioral health services, and relapse prevention work.

PHP can help clients continue building independence while maintaining the clinical structure and support needed during this stage of recovery.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

IOP provides structured addiction treatment on a schedule that offers greater flexibility for everyday responsibilities. Clients typically attend treatment several days each week while continuing to manage appropriate work, school, or family commitments.

This level of care gives individuals an opportunity to apply recovery skills in daily life while remaining connected to professional treatment and ongoing support.

Outpatient Addiction Treatment

Our outpatient rehab near Sunrise provides continued therapeutic support with greater independence for individuals who are stable enough to participate in a less intensive treatment schedule. Clients can attend scheduled therapy and treatment services while continuing with employment, education, family responsibilities, and other aspects of everyday life.

Outpatient treatment can help clients work through new challenges as they arise, reinforce healthy behaviors, and continue developing strategies that support sustained recovery.

Continuing Care & Aftercare

Completing a formal treatment program is an important milestone, but maintaining recovery is an ongoing process. Aftercare helps clients stay connected to supportive resources and develop a plan for navigating life after more intensive treatment.

Aftercare services may include:

  • Ongoing individual therapy
  • Alumni programs
  • Support group referrals
  • Recovery coaching
  • Relapse prevention planning
  • Community resources

Continued involvement in recovery-focused services can help individuals maintain accountability, strengthen coping strategies, and respond to potential relapse triggers as they return to everyday life.

Evidence-Based Addiction Therapies & Clinical Services

Effective substance use disorder treatment involves more than stopping drug or alcohol use. It can also require addressing behavioral patterns, emotional health, mental health concerns, relationships, and other factors that may contribute to addiction.

At First Step Behavioral Health, treatment plans are individualized according to each client’s needs. Evidence-based therapeutic approaches can be combined with psychiatric, mental health, and supportive services to provide more comprehensive care.

Absolutely! We encourage all prospective clients to get a better feel for our program by offering a tour of our Sunrise addiction treatment center. We kindly ask that you contact us first so we can arrange a day and time.

Most certainly. However, it does depend on your specific treatment program. We offer outpatient rehabilitation and partial hospitalization programs to those with serious obligations outside of treatment. No matter how busy your schedule is, we’ll work around it and ensure that our program suits your needs best.

The length of treatment varies based on your individual needs, the severity of your addiction, and your progress. Some clients may only need a few weeks of care, while others benefit from several months of continued treatment.

The exact cost of treatment will vary based on the specific program you choose. Residential treatment offers the most intensive level of care with full access to amenities and around-the-clock care. Thus, this is typically the most expensive option. Our more flexible options, such as outpatient treatment, will be significantly less expensive. The exact cost of treatment will also be dependent upon your insurance coverage.

We encourage you to give us a call to find out exactly what your insurance covers. We’ll reach out to your provider and do a comprehensive review of your plan. Then, we can go over what the most cost-effective options are for your care.

If you’re not insured, don’t lose hope. Fortunately, there are other methods of financing treatment at our facility. You may qualify for a loan, or perhaps you can create a fundraising page to earn money. We encourage you to reach out to us so we can walk you through these different routes if insurance isn’t an option.

Getting started is simple. Contact First Step Behavioral Health to speak with an admissions specialist, verify your insurance benefits, and schedule a confidential assessment to begin your recovery at our drug and alcohol rehab center near Sunrise, Florida.

They helped me alot!

I wasn’t sure what to expect coming in, but First Step really surprised me in the best way. The staff actually listen and don’t make you feel judged. That alone made a huge difference for me.

First Step BH helped me get back on track when I felt completely lost. The support here feels genuine, not forced. You can tell they care.

This place is very unprofessional. Out of all the staff there was only three that seemed to care. They kicked me out for wanting my medication. To help prevent a stroke due to my Brian bleed. A male nurse let me know with no hesitation that they do not sterilize medical equipment. Another nurse handled medication with bare dirty hands, they flew me to their facility then put me out, they didn’t care how I was going to get home. They sneakily called my 87 year old grandmother after I asked them not to bother her she has dementia Now my grandmother is sick and worried. They mad me sign wavers without explaining or reading them to me. Than kicked me out. They have no heart or compassion for mankind at all. The staff are having sexual relations with one another. And inappropriately looking and commenting towards clients. The Doctor will not listen to your concerns. The place does not look like it does on the website. It smells like mildew through out the whole building. The place is a joke. I wouldn’t recommend my puppy spending a night there let alone a human being. The head of nurse Claudia and therapist Myranda were so nonchalant about the fact I’m homeless out here in Florida coming from California. They just dumped me off at the airport . You can’t wash your own cloths. And they make you sign a waver saying that they are not responsible if they get tore up. They also made me sign a waver that if something happens to me on their facility they are not responsible. Than kicked me out. I wouldn’t recommend, or go to this place if it was my last option. Ever the blankets smell like mildew. They are sneaky and lie. Frank was nice Kyle was nice keya I don’t remember the names of a couple more. They left a paralyzed client that fell out his wheelchair in a ditch screaming for help and they laughed about it. Even the staff. I seen staff asking a client for a knife to stabbed the man in the wheelchair in the back cause he tiered of pushing him around and listening to him. Joke or no joke that was insane. And unprofessional.i rather die of my acholisim disease than to go back there Proof they knewbleed they new about. Everyone felt like they were in prison. They put a ankle monitor on you just to follow you around the house my roommate left the next day I ativived

One of the best behavioral treatment facilities I went to. Most highly recommended!

1st step is a top notch rehab that truly cares about their patients

First Step BH honestly changed my life. When I first got here, I was a mess, but the staff were super kind and actually cared about helping me get better. The place feels really positive and supportive, and they make recovery feel possible. I’m really grateful for everything they’ve done for me.

When I first came to First Step Behavioral Health as a client, I was struggling deeply with my mental health and felt like I had nowhere else to turn. The therapists and staff here helped me in ways I didn’t think were possible. They gave me a safe space to talk about what I was going through, taught me coping skills I still use today, and most importantly reminded me that I wasn’t alone in this. Now, as a staff member, I get to witness that same transformation in others every day. I’ve seen people walk in carrying so much pain and leave with hope, stability, and confidence in themselves again. Mental health recovery isn’t easy, but First Step provides the structure, compassion, and real support people need to heal. I’m forever grateful for how this place changed my life, and honored to now help others on their own journey.
