Residential Drug & Alcohol Addiction Treatment
At 1st Step Behavioral Health, our residential treatment program provides personalized, compassionate care for individuals struggling with addiction or co-occurring mental health problems. By offering a variety of evidence-based therapies and a personalized treatment approach, our residential addiction treatment program not only treats the symptoms of addiction but also guides individuals toward lasting recovery.
What is Residential Addiction Treatment?
Residential addiction treatment, often referred to as inpatient or residential rehab, is a comprehensive and structured form of addiction treatment where individuals struggling with substance abuse or addiction live within a specialized treatment facility for a designated period.
This type of treatment is typically recommended for individuals with moderate to severe substance use disorders or those who require a high level of care and support due to the nature and severity of their addiction. Residential substance abuse treatment programs are generally preferred for the treatment of addiction because they provide individuals with supervised separation from drugs and alcohol while providing a safe, sober place to live.
Key Features and Benefits of a Residential Rehab Program
- 24/7 Supervision and Support – Individuals have around-the-clock access to medical and clinical staff, providing constant support and supervision. This level of care ensures safety and immediate assistance in case of withdrawal symptoms or mental health crises.
- Structured Environment – Residential rehab facilities in Florida provide a highly structured environment, including daily schedules of therapy sessions, group activities, and individual counseling. This structured approach helps individuals build healthy routines and habits, reinforcing sobriety.
- Medical Detox Services – Many residential programs offer on-site medical detox services to help individuals safely and comfortably withdraw from drugs or alcohol. Medical professionals monitor and manage the detox process to minimize withdrawal symptoms and associated risks.
- Individualized Treatment Plans – Treatment plans are tailored to the unique needs and circumstances of each individual. Licensed counselors and therapists conduct comprehensive assessments to determine the most appropriate therapies and interventions for each individual’s situation.
- Evidence-Based Therapies – Residential treatment typically offers a wide range of evidence-based therapies including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), individual counseling, group therapy, family therapy, and holistic approaches such as art therapy or yoga.
- Peer Support – Residents in a residential treatment program often form a supportive community with their peers who are also on the path to recovery because they are living among each other. This sense of camaraderie and understanding can be a valuable aspect of the healing process. Watching your peers recover can also be a source of motivation for your own recovery.
- Length of Stay – The duration of residential treatment can vary but typically ranges from a few weeks to several months, depending on the individual’s needs and progress. Some people may stay in residential treatment longer than others.
- Aftercare Planning – Before discharge, individuals work with their therapist and their case manager to develop an aftercare plan. This plan outlines ongoing support, such as outpatient counseling, support groups, alumni groups, or sober housing, to help maintain sobriety and continue the recovery process.
How Our Residential Addiction Treatment Program in Florida Works
Our residential alcohol and drug treatment center in Pompano Beach offers an intensive and structured program in a home-like environment.
Individuals eligible for admission to our residential treatment program are those who have stabilized medically and are no longer at immediate medical risk. Some individuals are admitted directly to our residential treatment program, while others attend our detox program first, and then later transfer into our residential program.
We offer apartment-style living with semi-private rooms and shared living and recreation areas. Residents’ daily responsibility during the hours of 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. is to focus on themselves and their recovery, having various groups and independent therapies scheduled throughout the day. After programming, clients can go to the gym five nights a week, with the option to go to the wellness center for chiropractic and massage therapy or go back to their apartments to relax and socialize with their peers.
Our residential center is equipped with a team of skilled medical professionals, and psychiatric care services are readily accessible. Our committed and compassionate staff facilitates a range of therapeutic interventions, including one-on-one counseling, small and large group therapy sessions, as well as specialized gender-specific group therapy.
During treatment, transportation is available for residents to attend 12-step meetings outside of our rehab center, go on supervised grocery shopping trips, and participate in weekend fellowship activities.
A Focus on The Family
In our residential drug abuse treatment program, we actively promote and value family involvement. We understand that a crucial aspect of the recovery journey involves the restoration of meaningful relationships between family members. Here at 1st Step, we don’t limit family support to the weekends, instead, we consider them an integral part of the recovery process. Our clients’ families are actively included and supported throughout the journey toward healing.
