From the first second I called, I felt more at ease than I ever had before. As a mother of an addict, the call is never easy and I had done it several times before. My son was in and out of several treatment facilities; 4 or 5 as I remember. None of them can compare to 1st Step and their incredible staff.

As a former client at First Step Behavioral Health, my experiences have been a growing, eye opening one to say the least. This place helped to break down my underlying issues and support me in building myself back up. From the tech staff to the clinical team, the help provided is incredible.

Constant relapses and close calls with death had our family so disheartened as to wondering if our daughter would ever recover. Until we found 1st Step. Not only is she thriving now, but our entire family was educated on the whole disease process of addiction and how important it is to give the right kind of support.

I would like to say that I don’t write reviews like this ever. I never take the time to say good or bad about companies that I have worked with. This is a very special situation that I am sure we, and I say we because the person reading this, YOU and I are in the same situation if you are a friend or loved one of someone going through this horrific thing called addiction. We want to do what is best for our family and friends. The thing that set First Step above any other for me was they knew how to address the issues that were causing his drug use. Not just that he was an addict. I can say that if my brothers lips were moving he was never telling the truth. They saw through that and called him out on it. Made him own his responsibility for his actions and worked him through it. He is clean for 18 months from doing horrible drugs that would have killed him I’m sure. The professionalism of this company had helped to guide US through this. They don’t look at us as numbers or people who pay the bills. They treated us like a part of the process and they knew that what we were going through was very difficult. I don’t know how they are not jaded from this. I don’t know how they do this everyday. But I thank God for how they treated my brother and have helped him stand like a man for the first time in his 46 years on this earth. Thank you First Step!

From the admissions process, namely Zoe, First Step was there each step of the way. From helping us book the airline flight to making sure my daughter was on the plane and ok. I believe my daughter was finally ready for sobriety but without the help of all the wonderful staff at First Step, she would have never succeeded. Every staff member I dealt with was compassionate and caring. Christina kept in touch with weekly phone sessions and if I had any questions or concerns, they were answered quickly. Thanks to First Step, my daughter Ashley is now 6 months sober!

16 months ago I found myself on a plane back to rehab for what felt like the millionth time, I was no longer in a state of denial about my drug use, I knew I had a problem and I knew I had exhausted all my options, I was scared to return to first step because I had been such an awful, unwilling client my first time around, and here I was a few months later asking for their help once again. I came in completely hopeless, I could not imagine a life with or without drugs, simply put, I was broken but 1st step welcomed me with open arms, literally… so many hugs! I’ve been in many treatment centers before, and I can honestly say the staff here REALLY cares about their clients, I felt that all along, even my first time there which is why I returned. Nancy & Gus really pushed me to get honest, become willing and to give it a shot. I didn’t see a light at the end of the tunnel or believe I could live a sober life but they both constantly encouraged me to keep doing the next right thing, and to believe that they believed in me, when I could not see the potential in myself. I specifically remember Gus said to me, “give me a year, and I promise you won’t regret it,” so I let go, and trusted in people I knew cared about me and wanted only the best for me and committed to a year in Florida, and I am so grateful I did because today I work in a treatment center and am able to help those struggling with addiction on a daily basis, and to me, there is nothing more rewarding than that. Thank you 1st step for helping me find my place in a world I never thought I belonged it, thank you for showing me compassion and understanding and thank you for never giving up on me! You all have a huge piece of my heart, especially Nancy, Jill, & Gus.

This is Maureen L, and I am just writing to let you know of how truly blessed I was to go through 1st Steps program. The staff at 1st Step has definitely saved and changed my life. Today I am truly grateful for having got the opportunity to go through First Steps program. I do not believe that I would have gotten the help that I needed if I were to have gone somewhere else. I am truly blessed to have the life I was given today due to First Step. I have an external amount of gratitude for the staff and clients as well. Christina was my clinician the 3rd time around and I was truly blessed to have gotten her. I just want to give a huge thanks to all of the clinicians; Jill, Janice, Jen, Nancy, Alexis, Mike, and especially Christina.
